A 26-year-old woman has been booked into Snohomish County jail as a suspect in an Oct. 20 carjacking near Swedish Edmonds hospital.
Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley said that Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the stolen car at an abandoned house in south Everett, on a routine check of the property.
The woman, from the Mill Creek area, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on robbery charges, Hawley said.
The victim of the carjacking — a 17-year-old Mountlake Terrace woman — told police that she picked up the suspect at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood after the woman asked for a ride to the hospital. Once they arrived in the 21600 block of Highway 99, the suspect informed the victim that she wanted her car and that she had a gun.
The victim refused to give the suspect the vehicle and a fight ensued inside the car, with the victim eventually being pushed out, suffering minor injuries, Hawley said.
