Christopher Kratz finished first with a time of 18:20, followed by Brian Houck at 19:24 and 14-year-old Josiah Ponton, who also had a time of 19:24. The first female finisher was Laura Hunter with a time of 21:30.

A total of 853 racers of all ages participated. Several dogs and strollers also braved the 5K race.

Lynndale Elementary School received an award for having the most participants in the race, with 284 runners. Hilltop Elementary got second place with 161 racers and Terrace Park came in third place with 103 participants.

Cheerleaders from Meadowdale, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace high schools encouraged runners at the finish line. After the race, drum lines from the same schools showed their stuff while the crowd rested and snacked on bananas or ice cream.

The race benefits the Foundation for Edmonds School District. Funds raised by the event will go toward projects that benefit participating schools, educational programs and providing classroom materials, among other things.
