A 44-year-old Seattle woman drowned while swimming in Lake Ballinger Saturday evening, Mountlake Terrace police said.
According to South County Fire spokesperson Shawneri Guzman, as the woman’s friends exited the lake around 7:42 p.m., they discovered the victim wasn’t following them and was unresponsive. The friends pulled her out of the lake and immediately began CPR until first responders arrived on the scene, Guzman said.
Mountlake Terrace Police Commander Mike Haynes confirmed the woman drowned, adding “it appeared she suffered a medical event.”
