Woman hit by car on 44th Avenue W, Aug. 5 001
Snohomish County District 1 firefighters treated a woman hit by a car on 44th Avenue West Wednesday night.

A woman was injured when she was hit by a car at the intersection of 44th Avenue West and 226th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace about 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

A Snohomish County Fire District 1 aid car transported the woman to Swedish Edmonds Hospital for evaluation after the accident.

The woman was apparently trying to cross 44th Avenue West when she stepped in front of a northbound car. The vehicle, with one occupant — the driver — sustained no visible damage; no charges are expected to be file in the incident. The woman was not walking in a crosswalk, according to police.

All lanes of 44th Avenue West were closed for more than 20 minutes as police from Mountlake Terrace and Brier, as well as firefighters from Fire District 1, responded to the accident.
