This week’s MLT City Council meeting moved to Wednesday, Sept. 4

Normally held on the first and third Mondays of the month, the Mountlake Terrace City Council meeting scheduled for Sept. 2 is being rescheduled due the Labor Day holiday. The first council meeting of the month is now set for Wednesday, Sept. 4, 7 p.m., in the council chambers of Interim City Hall, 6100-219th St. S.W., #200.

The first item of business on Wednesday’s agenda will be the swearing in of the new Interim City Manager Scott Hugill, who will fill the office vacated by former City Manager John Caulfield. Hugill will assume the duties of the city’s top administrator until the council selects a new permanent City Manager, which could come as early as December 2013.

When council meetings fall on a Monday holiday, Mountlake Terrace officials normally reschedule them for Tuesday. But this time the meeting is being moved to Wednesday in order to give council members the opportunity to attend the Tuesday, Sept. 3 Lakewood (Pierce County) City Council meeting, at which Caulfield will be sworn in to his new position as the Lakewood City Manager.
