With the impending streak of freezing weather, the water service at the dog park has been temporarily shut off in order to avoid frozen pipes. The dog park had a close call last winter when the service line froze. Fortunately the pipe did not burst. Until the weather warms up, MLT DOG is asking that those who use the dog park bring jugs of water for your thirsty companions.
The Mountlake Terrace Dgo Park is maintained by a citizen group called MLT DOG (Mountlake Terrace Dog Off-Leash Group). If you are interested in volunteering with MLT DOG, they are having a work party on December 5th at 10 am to spread some fresh wood chips around the park.
If you are not a registered volunteer and want to be, you will need to fill out some forms, turn them in to Mountlake Terrace City Hall and attend an orientation.
MLT DOG President Jim Ito gives the details:
Please turn in the attached forms to City Hall (attention Ken Courtmanch) by Monday, November 29th to allow for processing. (You do not have to provide your SSN on the form at this time. It may be requested later.) Please RSVP if you do this and we will have the orientation near the shed at 9:30am on 12/5 before the work party. Once you go through this process, you may attend any work party in the future.
