You can watch and listen live from 10:10 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday as Mountlake Terrace High School competes in the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival in New York City this weekend.
We’ve embedded the streaming webcast so you can listen to any of the 16 schools performing, starting Saturday at 11:40 a.m. until 3 p.m. Pacific Time (Seattle band Roosevelt plays at 1 p.m. Saturday) and Sunday from 7:10 to 11:30 a.m. The other Seattle-area high school band in the competition — from Ballard High School — plays immediately after Mountlake Terrace Sunday.
The 16 finalists were chosen from 111 applicants who sent in recordings. Essentially Ellington is sponsored by the nonprofit organization Jazz at Lincoln Centers.
