Bryan Wahl took the oath of office Monday night for the position of Mountlake Terrace City Councilmember and will now complete the City Council Position 5 term that was vacated by former councilmember Michelle Robles in 2012; the term expires in December 2015.

Wahl had been appointed to the post in August 2012, but needed to win a special election for the position conducted on the general election ballot last month to complete the entire term. Wahl won that election, tallying 56.08 percent of the vote.

City rules called for Wahl to be administered the oath of office once the Nov. 5 general election results were certified. The other councilmembers who won reelection to their posts last month – Jerry Smith, Kyoko Matsumoto Wright and Doug McCardle – will take their oaths of office at the beginning of their new four-year terms in January.
