The Heart of Edmonds Schools and Community Heartsafe Project is looking for students, teachers, community members and businesses interested in helping to promote its project.
A volunteer meeting is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m., Sept. 18 at the Aloha Cafe, 6808 196th St. SW. in Lynnwood.
The goals of the Heart of Edmonds School District and Community Heart Project are to educate the community on heart health awareness, the safety and use of CPR and automated external defibrillators (AED). The Project through private funds hopes to equip every public school and community field in the Edmonds School District with an AED and a proper emergency plan for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The Project also hopes to implement an ongoing instruction and maintenance program.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death on school property and among student athletes. For more information on the Heart of Edmonds Schools and Community Heartsafe Project see:www.heartofedmondssd.org/
