Volunteers needed for United Way of Snohomish County’s Days of Caring Project in Mountlake Terrace

As part of the United Way of Snohomish County’s Days of Caring the Low Income Housing Institute is looking for volunteers to help with a gardening project at the Brentwood Apartments.

The complex is a site for low-income families, especially those with small children. There are currently 34 families living at this building. This project will consist of putting in plants and bushes around the site’s fences and perimeters. The goal is to freshen up the outside of the building with lively greenery. This project will work with site management to increase the green space of this site and keep it beautiful and welcoming for the whole year.. The project will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Sept. 12.

Each year, Days of Caring brings together volunteers who are committed to creating positive change in the lives of children, families and seniors. Volunteer teams, organized primarily by local companies, complete projects for local nonprofit agencies that often lack the necessary resources to tackle such important initiatives themselves.

Last year, 1,019 sets of helping hands volunteered over 5,600 hours at 47 nonprofit project sites throughout Snohomish County.
