The City of Mountlake Terrace is seeking volunteers to fill interim vacancies on several boards and commissions:
Volunteers are needed to fill interim vacancies on the city’s Advisory Boards and Commissions. Currently, there are openings on the Arts Advisory Commission and the Planning Commission. Applicants for the Planning Commission must be residents of the city, able to meet twice a month, and have an interest in reviewing development proposals, revisions to the city’s Comprehensive Plan and development code. The Arts Commission position is open to residents or non-residents who are interested in promoting the arts and cultural activities in Mountlake Terrace. The Arts Commission usually meets once per month.
Serving on a volunteer board or commission provides an excellent opportunity to get involved in your community and learn about city government. Citizens may apply for any of the boards or commissions. Applications will be kept on file for the annual spring recruitment for terms beginning on July 1.
The recruitment to fill current vacancies will close Tuesday, February 16 at 5:00 p.m. and appointments are tentatively scheduled for the March 1 Council meeting. A City Council Subcommittee, comprised of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, will review the applications and may contact interested parties for interviews. For more information on the city’s boards and commissions or to get an application, please contact Virginia Olsen, City Clerk/Community Relations Director, at (425) 744-6206 or volsen@ci.mlt.wa.us.
More information and applications are available on the city’s website.
