Verdant Health Commission grant to help Move 60! program continue at all 22 Edmonds District elementary schools

Move_60!_logo_small_webA Verdant Health Commission grant will renew funding for the Move 60! program at all 22 Edmonds District elementary schools.

Move 60! gets students moving an hour a day, four days a week in an effort to increase opportunities for student activity and exercise outside of the typical school day. The program has been a hit with students too as they clamor to be a part of this exciting opportunity.

With the all-around success, Verdant Health Commission agreed to issue a new three-year grant to support the program.

“The Verdant Board recognized the program’s importance and the results that we have found in fighting childhood obesity. We are pleased to be able to continue with Move 60 for three more years,” Jenni McCloughan, Move 60! Coordinator said.

The Move 60! Program will be headed by Move 60! Coordinators Jenni McCloughan and Jennie Hershey.
