Police were gathering evidence and filing a report at Mountlake Terrace Elementary Wednesday morning after a broken window was found at the school, an occurrence that has happened repeatedly this summer.

The smashed window found Wednesday “is one of several broken over the last several weeks,” said Edmonds School District spokesperson DJ Jakala.

While vandalism occasionally occurs at district schools, it is an unusual experience for at Mountlake Terrace Elementary, let alone multiple incidents of damage, Jakala said.

“We ask neighbors to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity on any of our school grounds to assist us in minimizing these occurrences,” Jakala added.
