The two-time defending Pac-8 champion University of Washington men’s ice hockey team opens its 2012-13 training camp Monday, Sept. 17, here in Mountlake Terrace at Olympicview Arena, 22202-70th Ave. W.. The players will close their week of training with an exhibition game against a group of UW alumni players on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m.
The Huskies play a 30-game regular season, with all of their home games at Olympicview Arena. After opening the season on the road against UNLV, the squad will have home games on Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 5 and 6, against an unnamed opponent.
Highlights of their home scheduled include visits by Oregon on Oct. 26 and 27, Washington State on Nov. 16 and 17, and UCLA on Jan. 25 and 26.
The Huskies won the Pac-8 Tournament Championship in both 2011 and 2012, last year defeating the Utah Utes 2-0 in the final.
