Update: Woman hit by car on 44th Avenue West reported to be in satisfactory condition at Harborview

MLtnews logoThe woman injured when she was hit by a car Wednesday night near the intersection of 44th Avenue West and 226th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace is in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A Harborview spokeswoman said she could not provide further details on the woman due to privacy laws.

The accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday when woman apparently was trying to cross 44th Avenue West and she stepped in front of a northbound car. The vehicle, with one occupant – the driver – sustained no visible damage. The woman was not walking in a crosswalk, according to police.

All lanes of 44th Avenue West were closed for more than 20 minutes as police from Mountlake Terrace and Brier, as well as firefighters from Fire District 1, responded to the accident.
