The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office has not made an official ruling on the manner of the death of a Brier woman found lying on the sidewalk outside a hotel in the 3000 block of 196th Street Southwest on Thursday in Lynnwood, our sister publication Lynnwood Today reports.

It could be a while before the medical examiner’s office makes a determination. The case is still under investigation by Lynnwood Police.

Just before 6 a.m. a jogger, who was staying at the hotel, found a woman laying on the sidewalk outside the hotel with significant signs of trauma.

The first call to 911 reported that the woman had been shot; however, police and medical crews on the scene didn’t find anything consistent with that report.

It appears the woman, who is a 43-year-old from Brier, came out of the top floor (fourth floor) window. The nature of why or how she went out the window is still under investigation.
