The Mountlake Terrace City Council is scheduled to vote on a resolution establishing policies and procedures for public records disclosure requests at Monday night’s meeting.
The Washington State Public Records Act requires that public agencies such as the City of Mountlake Terrace publish rules in order to provide full public access to public records. To that end, City staff is recommending a policy be adopted by City Council resolution outlining the process for the public and employees to use for public records requests.
The proposed policy follows the City’s current practice of designating the employee(s) responsible for tracking and ensuring record requests are fulfilled. The policy also outlines how requests for public records can be made, and the City’s process in responding to these requests.
The Resolution and policies can be found here.
The Council is expected to approve an amendment to the Interlocal agreement with the Edmonds School District related to Terrace Park School gym and the Recreation Pavilion’s pool. The City also has used the District’s sites for before and after care as well as the District’s high school theater for performances. Both the City and District wish to have the exchanging of services to offset one another and be equitable. The amendments can be found here.
