Winning the Best Butcher category in a local poll is old hat for long-time Mountlake Terrace institution Double DD Meats, but this year, the business gets to celebrate the accomplishment with a next-door neighbor.
Double DD Meats has been voted the Best Butcher in the King 5 TV Best of Western Washington poll for 2016, an honor the business has won multiple times in the history of the survey. They are being joined as a Best of Western Washington winner by Snohomish Pie Company, named for Best Pies in the contest.
The Snohomish Pie Company, with their original store in Snohomish, opened a second outlet in May 2015 in Mountlake Terrace right next door to Double DD Meats, which has called the city home since its start in 1955.
The honors come at one of the busiest times for both businesses; both Double DD Meats and Snohomish Pie Company are gearing up for handling the extra orders that come with the approaching Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday.
