Mountlake Terrace Elementary and Terrace Park School were placed into lockdown “as a precautionary measure” for approximately 30 minutes Friday morning, Sept. 21, as Mountlake Terrace police searched for a suspect in an Edmonds domestic violence assault case.

Mountlake Terrace Police Commander Doug Hansen confirmed late Friday that the suspect was seen in Mountlake Terrace in the general vicinity of the two schools Friday morning. The schools were placed into lockdown from about 10:55-11:25 a.m.

As of late Friday, no arrest had been made in the case.

  1. I’m very impressed with how the school handled the situation. Our son described what happen in the classroom and he felt safe. The school followed up after school with a message to describe the situation through both phone and email. Nice work MLT Elementary School.
