The southbound platform of the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center’s freeway station will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2 and 3, for construction. The closure affects Community Transit’s Route 511 and Route 512 weekend commuter buses.
To travel south from Mountlake Terrace, Community Transit is advising Route 511 and 512 commuters to ride a northbound 511 or 512 bus to the Lynnwood Transit Center, then transfer to a southbound bus. For those wanting to disembark from a southbound 511 or 512 bus at Mountlake Terrace, Community Transit is advising riders to continue to the 145th freeway station, get off the bus there and transfer to a northbound bus, then disembark at Mountlake Terrace.
Community Transit reminds riders that there is no additional cost for transfers, but the closure will affect Mountlake Terrace travel times for Routes 511 and 512. The northbound freeway station at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center will not be effect by the construction closure.
Fares on all Community Transit service are going up effective Feb. 1. Local bus fares will go up by 25 cents for all riders, increasing the adult fare to $2.00 and youth (ages 6-18) to $1.50. Commuter fares to King County from Everett and south Snohomish County, including from the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, will go up 50 cents for adults and reduced fare customers, 25 cents for youth. A commuter fare will run $4 for adults, $3 for youth. Monthly passes will also see a hike in cost starting Friday.
