The City of Mountlake Terrace nominated its Town Center Regional Stormwater Facility for a Puget Sound Regional Council VISION 2040 Award.
The project provides a creative solution to support and encourage efficient redevelopment of the Town Center by using an innovative investment in infrastructure to protect critical areas in the McAleer Creek and Lake Ballinger Watershed basin.
Each year the Puget Sound Regional Council honors outstanding real-life examples of how the region is achieving its vision for growing wisely and creating great quality of life in all the region’s communities. The awards are designed to recognize the superb work being done by public and private organizations to achieve the region’s growth, economic, and transportation strategy, VISION 2040.
Nominations can be for projects, programs or plans in the four-county region (King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties) that are developed in the public or private sectors, or through public/private partnerships. Any individual, business, agency, organization or jurisdiction may submit a nomination. All nominations must have demonstrated significant progress in the past 12 months.
The VISION 2040 Award winners are selected by a committee of PSRC Board members.
Last year, Mountlake Terrace won a VISION 2040 Award for the Arbor Village project in the Town Center.
