Looking for up to date Tour de Terrace information? Here’s where you want to go.
After the city of Mountlake Terrace canceled the annual 4th of July fireworks show, many people were hoping they would still be able to enjoy the fireworks show that is usually at Tour de Terrace. Unfortunately, there will be no fireworks at Tour de Terrace either.
The Tour de Terrace festivities take place on the Evergreen playfields, and the property that the fireworks need to be on is owned by the Edmonds School District. The school district obviously requires some insurance to put on a big fireworks show. This year, the cost for the required insurance increased dramatically, to the point where it was not affordable any longer.
Tour de Terrace is run by volunteers and has no corporate sponsors, as many other festivals do. I’m not sure if they have decided not to have corporate sponsors or if there aren’t any companies interested.
Would having a corporate sponsor change the way you feel about Tour de Terrace? Would it lose some of its local charm? The Premera Tour de Terrace? Let us know in the comments below.

I wonder why the cost went up so much. It's unfortunate, although we were out of town camping that weekend – and usually are.
