Tour de Terrace: Less than 3 weeks away

Mountlake Terrace residents and visitors have enjoyed one of the best family festivals of Seafair for the past eighteen years. Tour de Terrace, a Seafair-sanctioned event, kicks off Friday, July 29 with the 18th Annual Tour de Terrace Parade featuring the Seattle Police Motorcycle Drill team at 6:45 pm. This year’s Grand Marshal is Artist Michael Reagan, founder of the Fallen Heroes Project. The parade travels along 56th Avenue West from 234th Street northward to Evergreen Playfield.

Come and see the parade roll down “Main Street” with fan favorites including the Seafair Pirates and Clowns, Lake City Western Vigilantes, drill teams, dancers, floats, trucks, classic cars and much more. The Tour de Terrace Parade is always held the night before the “Seattle Torchlight Parade” and serves as a kind of dress rehearsal for the various parade entries.

In addition, Tour de Terrace highlights include live music and entertainment on the main stage, a beer garden featuring award-winning Ellersick brews, food booths with American and International selections, pancake breakfast, street fair, Davis Amusement Carnival, and the classic car, truck and motorcycle show (Saturday only 9-3). The fireworks show is Saturday evening beginning at about 10:00 pm.

New this year is a demonstration of the Combat Arts, which includes an assortment of mixed martial arts forms, Saturday evening beginning right after the car show at about 5 p.m. at Evergreen Playfield.

Sponsored by Tour de Terrace, a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer organizers have produced this exciting, fun-filled three-day festival that sets the stage for upcoming Seafair events. Tour de Terrace runs Friday, July 29, Noon-11pm, Saturday, July 30, 9am-11pm, and Sunday, July 31, 9am-6pm. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this fun event for the whole family.
