The accolades continue to come in for the 2013 Mountlake Terrace Hawks football team as three seniors on the squad were recognized by the Associated Press with selection to the news organization’s All-State teams.
Being named to the 2013 AP Washington state 3A All-State Team was Jevin Pahinui for his play on the Hawk offensive line; selected to the second team was Chance Ragsdale at running back and Brett Potter at linebacker.
Though honored to be recognized for his play this season, Potter still had some disappointment in his voice when talking about his final year of high school football. “I was happy with my last football game (Nov. 10); I went out with 24 tackles. But I felt like I could have done better,” he stated.
Potter led the team in tackles this year as the Hawks finished the 2013 regular season with a 5-4 record, qualifying for post season play for only the fourth time in school history.
Pahinui, Ragsdale and Potter were among only 10 players from the 3A Wesco League to be selected onto the AP 3A All-State teams.
