UPDATE: Here are all the details about the Easter Egg Hunt.
What started as a post on Facebook from the Red Onion is now turning into quite the community effort.
Two weeks ago the Red Onion posted that they would be hosting the City of Mountlake Terrace Easter Egg Hunt this year. They had residents and businesses to help with the event and provide plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes. Within a couple hours, there were numerous comments from members of the community and MLT businesses (including two MLTnews sponsors, Waldron Chiropractic and Seattle Tae Kwon Do) saying that they would be more than willing to step in and help with the event. The fire department and the senior center have also said that they would help.
The Mountlake Terrace Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 3rd (the day before Easter) at the Evergreen Playfield. The goal is to have 5,000 plastic eggs filled with candy that will be hidden for the kids in our community.
The Red Onion is looking for volunteers to help in several different ways:
- People to help fill eggs and hide them on the day of the event.
- Locations to put up boxes and ask people to donate plastic Easter eggs and candy.
- Donations of prizes to give-away such as gift certificates or other little prizes for kids.
If you can help in any of these ways, head to https://mltnews.wpengine.com/easter/ and fill out the form. We’ll pass your info along to Seaun Richards of the Red Onion.
