The Lady Hawks visited Cascade Tuesday afternoon in a rematch from their season opener in which they lost.
It was a different team that stepped on the court for Terrace this time. They led the Bruins after the first quarter but trailed by one at half and 2 after 3. In the fourth quarter Terrace came out determined to go home with a victory, led by senior guard Mindy James on offense with 21 points, including 5 of 6 from the line in the closing minutes.
It was the defense that proved to be the difference in the fourth period led by senior post Mary Boxley, coming up with 4 blocked shots, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Freshman wing Maddy Kristjanson pulled down 11 boards and added 14 points, she also played some tough defense. Takara Mitsui with 6 points, Cassie Christman 5, Taylor Smith 4, Cristine Lotz 2, Andrea Giuffrida 2. Terrace beat Cascade 52-47.
The Hawks host Tyee at 1:30 pm on Friday.
