The Mountlake Terrace girls softball team lost to a tough Lynnwood squad on Friday, 5-3, cutting their hold on second place in the Wesco 3A standings to just one game over the Royals with one game remaining.
The Hawks are scheduled to face first place and undefeated Everett on Wednesday, May 9, at Mountlake Terrace High School. Game time is 4 p.m.
Lynnwood can overtake the Hawks in the standings if they can win two of their three remaining games next week. The Royals must take on Everett, Meadowdale and Shorecrest to finish out the regular season.
The girls softball 3A District Tournament begins Tuesday, May 15.
