Terrace went to Mariner on Monday for a non conference game. Mariner will have their work cut out for them this year. Terrace scored 11 runs in the first inning, and only 11 because girls left early to to get called out as to not run the score up. In the second inning the Hawks put up the final four runs for their final run total of 15. The Hawks had 21 hits in the rain soaked game that was ended early due to the mercy rule after 5 innings. While the game started with Rene Bos pitching and Chelsea Crews behind the plate, freshman Maddy Kristjanson came in to pitch the final three innings to pick up the win for the Hawks, while sophomore Hannah Fickle took over behind the plate. In the Hawks first Wesco 3A conference game they faced Shorewood who was 2-1 overall, 1-0 in conference. It was a very well played game with good pitching on both sides. Terrace scored the first run of the game in the 4th inning, Jesse Printz led off with a walk, stole second, and then freshman Hannah Baisch hit a ball to centerfield to drive in the run. Shorewood then scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Trailing 2-1 going into the bottom of the 7th, Melynda Ward led off with a single, followed by another single by senior catcher Chelsea Cruise. Pitcher Rene Bos was then hit by a pitch to load the bases, next up was Maddy Kristjanson who hit a line drive down the rightfield line for a game winning two RBI double. Terrace is now 2-1-1 overall, and 1-0 in conference. Rene Bos gets the win. Mindy James 3-4. Hannah Baisch 2-3 RBI.
