Mountlake Terrace residents are invited to attend an open house the City of Edmonds is hosting for their 228th Street SW Corridor Improvements project on Thursday, Oct. 25, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Edmonds Public Works Building, 7110 210th St. S.W.
The open house will include a 6 p.m. presentation by City of Edmonds staff and project design consultants covering the planned construction, schedule information and project costs. There will be opportunity for public comments and questions.
The project will build the missing link of roadway on 228th Street Southwest from State Route (SR) 99 to 76th Avenue West, and install two new traffic signals at the intersections of SR 99/228th Street SW and 76th Avenue West/228th Street SW. When completed, the 228th Street SW corridor will connect to Lakeview Drive and provide through access to the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center and Freeway Station.
The City of Edmonds’ project provides mitigation to the City of Mountlake Terrace in the form of a street reconstruction and overlay of Lakeview Drive between the Interurban Trail and the entrance to Ballinger Playfield, 23000 Lakeview Drive.
The City of Edmonds hopes that the two planned traffic signals will improve accessibility and safety for Mountlake Terrace residents seeking access to SR 99 from 228th Street SW.
