Terrace Park Elementary School is looking for a few more volunteers to assist with Young Authors Day, a special all-day, all-school on-site field trip that involves writing and art sessions for the students and special presentations by several guest published authors.
“It is a unique day in the school calendar that always results in great interactions between teachers, students and community members who volunteer to teach lessons and chaperone groups of students,” said Ginger Everhart, the PTA committee chairperson for the event.
Presenters scheduled to be at Terrace Park on Friday include Royden Lepp, author of the RUST graphic novel series; Jesse Joshua Watson, author/illustrator of Hope for Haiti, Chess Rumble and other works; Kim Baker, author of PICKLE; Stephanie Barden, author of the Cinderella Smith series; and Claire Anderson, author of Sightless in Seattle.
Those interested in volunteering for this event are urged to do so at the Terrace Park PTA website. Questions can be directed to Everhart at gingerpta@gmail.com.
Young Author’s Day is made possible with funding from the Terrace Park PTA with additional financial support from the Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Library.
