Terrace Park School was evacuated at around 2 p.m. Thursday after a bomb threat was made against the school, Mountlake Terrace police said.
According to Assistant Police Chief Pete Caw, police “responded to a bomb threat but it proved to be unfounded and made by an individual who was suffering from mental health issues.”
Terrace Park Principal Mary Freitas sent a letter to the school’s families informing them of the incident Thursday afternoon. Students and staff who were evacuated returned to the building at approximately 3 p.m., Freitas said.
“We take these kinds of threats very seriously,” the principal added. “I’d like to compliment our students and staff for how well they conducted themselves during the evacuation.”
Terrace Park is located at 5409 228th St. S.W. in Mountlake Terrace.
