Gary Smithers, a physical education teacher at Terrace Park School in Mountlake Terrace, has been named the Rotary Club of Alderwood-Terrace January Educator of the Month.
Terrace Park Principal Mary Freitas noted that the honor bestowed on Smithers is well-deserved. “His students have benefited from his patience, his expertise and his ability to find and bring out the best in every child,” Frietas said. “He is a good example for students of someone who lives what they teach.”
Terrace Park, an Edmonds School District K-6th grade school located at 5409-228th St. S.W. in Mountlake Terrace, currently has a student population of about 650.
