Fans of high school basketball can get their fill of hoops action over the next two days as the Mountlake Terrace High School Holiday Tournament tips off with games at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at two different locations.
The Mountlake Terrace Hawks will take the court at Mountlake Terrace High School at 7 p.m. in the final game of the day Friday against the Foster Bulldogs. The game will be broadcast live on the Sound Live Sports Network beginning at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Other teams scheduled to be at the two-day tournament include Mark Morris of Longview, currently 5-1 and ranked sixth in the Seattle Times state 2A boys basketball rankings, and the Burnaby South Rebels, a strong 5-3 squad from Burnaby, British Columbia.
The event will also host junior varsity and freshman team games at MTHS and at Brier-Terrace Middle School. The admission cost of $5 per day gets spectators into games at both sites.
Here are the varsity match-ups for Friday (all these games will be at MTHS):
1 p.m. — Ferndale Golden Eagles (3-3) vs. Centralia Tigers (2-3)
3 p.m. — Burnaby South Rebels (5-3) vs. Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks *3-2)
5 p.m. — Mark Morris Monarchs (5-1) vs. Snohomish Panthers (2-3)
7 p.m. — Foster Bulldogs (1-4) vs. Mountlake Terrace Hawks (4-1)
The four losers of Friday games will face off in two games on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.; the winners will match up in a pair of games beginning at 5 p.m.
