Terrace Hoops: Hawks lose in first round of playoffs

The Mountlake Terrace boys basketball team came within two points of Cascade last night but were unable to pull off the win in the first round of the Northwest 4A district 1 playoffs.

The Cascade Bruins came out with a good start to the game scoring the first 4 points. By the end of the first quarter it was only 9-6. The second saw the Bruins lead increase, but only by one with a score of 16-12 at half time. The Bruins quickly increased their lead to 11 in the third quarter. Late in the 4th quarter the Hawks started to hit some threes and came within 2 points of the Bruins but the Bruins were able to hold the lead, winning 49-41.

High scorer for the Hawks was Andrew Eftekhari with 10 points.

The Hawks (10-8 conference, 11-10 overall) play again on Saturday again Arlington (9-7 conference, 13-9 overall) at Jackson High School at noon.
