The Mountlake Terrace High School girls basketball team had no answers for Bishop Blanchet’s Caitlyn Dixon on Friday night; the Braves’ senior, who had been averaging 5.5 points per game, poured in 22 as Blanchet picked up a 64-59 victory over the Hawks at Bishop Blanchet High School.
The game pitted two teams ranked in the Seattle Times 3A state girls basketball rankings; the Braves (8-0) are ranked No. 6, while Mountlake Terrace is ranked No. 8.
Terrace was led in scoring by the 15 points of Samantha Romanowski, and 14 from Shaian Pagaling.
The Hawks led at the end of the first quarter by a single point, but gave up 24 points to the Braves in the second and were never able to challenge for the lead after that.
Terrace (6-2) will take to the court again on Monday in a non-conference match-up against Cascade, 7:15 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School.
