On Friday, Mountlake Terrace visited Meadowdale for a 3A league match. The Mavericks beat the Hawks 44-40. The game was very back and forth from the beginning with Meadowdale winning the first quarter 16-2 and Terrace winning the second 15-8. The second half was tight with Terrace winning 23-20. Two arguable calls in the last minute kept the Hawks just short of the Mavericks. Will Powell led all scores with 17 points.
On Saturday, WESCO North 4A’s top team, the Monroe Bearcats, came to play at Terrace, beating them 60-47. Once again, the Hawks fell behind quickly with a first quarter score of 19-7 Monroe. However, Terrace fought back in the remaining quarters losing by 2 in the second, winning by 2 in the third, and finally losing by only 1 in the fourth. The Hawks had a difficult time defending Monroe’s taller posts under the basket throughout the game. Elgin Lambert led Terrace with 12 points.
Terrace’s next game is at home this Tuesday vs. Lynnwood at 7:30 p.m.
