Hawks’ tennis player Kevin Schaab is the latest pick for Mountlake Terrace Athlete of the Week, the school’s Athletic Department announced on Monday.

The choice was lauded by Hawks’ tennis Coach Josh Basha, who praised Schaab for his willingness to step forward for the team. 

“Kevin is the first player to arrive at practice to help anyone on the team who needs extra help,” Basha said. “When there is water on the courts he shows up early to help squeegee. For our home matches he fills up the water jug for all of the players and he actively watches all of his teammates compete.”

“Kevin himself competes intensely, smothering the net while using great sportsmanship,” Basha added. “And (he) is a tremendous asset to the team.”
