Expected sunshine and warm temperatures will most likely add to the festive atmosphere of the fundraising activities scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Drive, Dunk and Dine activities begin at 9 a.m. with the opening of the Mountlake Terrace High School Spring Bazaar in the school’s HUB. The bazaar will continue until 4 p.m., with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the school’s Parent Teacher Student Association and the four current MTHS classes of 2013 through 2016.

A bike rodeo will be conducted by staff and volunteers from Mountlake Terrace Elementary school from 9:30 a.m. — noon. Participants are invited to bring their own bike, or borrow one at the event from the Edmonds School District, to learn about bicycle safety and riding techniques.

The “Pay-It-Forward” Blood Drive will be conducted in the high school auxiliary gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in honor of Team Kellie, an organization supporting Kellie Watson in her battle against uterine cancer. Reservations to donate blood are recommended; contact Melissa Reid at m.reid@comcast.net to reserve your appointment time. The event is being hosted by the Puget Sound Blood Center.

More activities for Drive, Dunk and Dine will begin at 11 a.m., including the opening of various food vendors, a car wash, a dunk tank featuring staff and coaches of Mountlake Terrace High School, and the Ford Drive 4 UR School fundraising event. The car wash runs until 4 p.m.; the food vendors, dunk tank and Drive 4 UR School are scheduled to continue until 7 p.m.

Ford Motor Company and Harris Ford of Lynnwood will donate $20, up to a total of $6,000, to the MTHS Sports Booster Club for every test drive of a new Ford vehicle at the event on Saturday. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license; one test drive is allowed per household.

“To date Washington state Ford dealers have raised approximately $284,000 for their area high schools through the program,” stated Ford spokesperson Jenny Yim-Nordquist.
