Sun Shines for MLT Easter Egg Hunt

The sun made a brief appearance Saturday morning but it was just in time for the Mountlake Terrace Easter Egg Hunt. For the second year in a row the Red Onion organized the event which drew roughly 1,000 people.

“Once again thanks to all of the sponsors, supporters and volunteers that helpped make this years MLT Easter Egg Hunt the best one yet. Without all of you we could not have pulled off this success. Thank You.” said Seaun Richards, owner of the Red Onion.

Just like last year, Richards asked the community to chip in and donate candy and prizes. The Mountlake Terrace Senior helped stuff the 5,000+ plastic eggs with the donated candy.

Firefighters from Fire District 1 were on hand, using the horn of their fire engine to mark the beginning of each age group’s turn to make the dash for the plastic eggs.

There were several great photographers on hand at the event. Mark Hopkins, who’s photos you’ve likely seen on MLTnews before, was taking photos. You can see a slideshow of his work below. If you would like high resolution version of any of his photos, visit the gallery on his web site for instructions.

BundlePix, a new business in the area focused on event and sports photography, was also on hand and have several hundred photos on their web site. BundlePix are providing free downloads of all the photos.
