On Sunday, February 13, Mountlake Terrace Police were dispatched to a home near 44th Ave W and 212th St SW for a suicidal man possible armed with a firear,m.
The 59 year old Mountlake Terrace resident called his wife and told her he was armed with a firearm, it was in his mouth and he was going to end it all. After identifying the subject’s residence, officers made contact and the subject emerged from his apartment with a loaded firearm. He was uncooperative demanding that officers kill him.
The sage, a less-lethal device that fires a 4-inch-long baton was deployed, disabling the subject and ultimately leading to his safe apprehension. The subject was committed for a mental evaluation at Swedish Hospital.
