Stormwater Code Update Open House July 26

A draft update to the City’s Stormwater Code will be presented at an Open House Monday, July 26 at the Interim City Hall, 6100 219th Street SW, Second Floor, Council Chambers. The Open House is scheduled between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.

The update is meant to encourage “low impact development” techniques for managing stormwater.

Updating the Stormwater Code is required by state and federal laws. Because the City’s stormwater management requirements are already based on the state’s stormwater manual, the Code updates are not expected to result in any major changes for development.

Other meetings on the proposed Stormwater Code Update are scheduled for July 26, August 23, September 2, and September 20. They will be held at the Interim City Hall, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 220, Mountlake Terrace and begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Planning Commission will make a recommendation on the update, following an August 23 public hearing. The City Council will decide whether to adopt the update, following a September 20 public hearing.
