Or do you have a dog that has previous obedience class experience and is ready for the next step in training? The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion has scheduled two dog obedience classes beginning this week that are looking for a few more doggie pupils and their owners in order to begin.

Intermediate Dog Obedience is scheduled for five Wednesday evenings, 7:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 15. The class prepares participants for the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen test, to be given on the final night of the five-week course. Completion of the pavilion’s Basic Dog Obedience class is a prerequisite for enrolling in this course.

Puppygarten is a six-week course beginning on Thursday, Jan. 16, 7-8 p.m., and is for puppies eight to 16 weeks old; the course will cover socialization and basic obedience — sit, down, come and walking on a leash. Puppies must have current vaccinations for admittance into the course.

The fee for either class is $80 for Mountlake Terrace residents, $85 for non-residents. For more information, or to register for either class, talk to Recreation Pavilion staff at the front desk. Registration can also be completed online here.

The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion is located at 5303-228th St. SW.
