The Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) at its annual luncheon recognized School Board President Diana White and Director of Assessment, Research and Evaluation Dr. Nancy Katims.

White received the Community Leadership Award. She serves on the boards of the Edmonds School District and The Hazel Miller Foundation, and is a member of the district’s Strategic Direction Equity of Opportunity Work Group. That group works to ensure students are experiencing an inclusive culture and supportive learning environment.

Katims, who is retiring this summer, received the Student Leadership Award for her knowledge and expertise in the area of assessment, research, and evaluation. It has been instrumental in helping teachers and administrators learn how to use student learning data to inform instruction.
