Starting Monday, MLT City Council to hear budget presentations from city departments

Now that the Mountlake Terrace City Council has seen an overview of the city’s 2013-2014 proposed biennial budget, individual departments will begin giving their presentations to the council beginning Monday, Oct. 15.

The council reviewed the $97.2 million general, capital and utility budget plan at its Oct. 1 council meeting.

At Monday’s meeting, the City Council/City Manager/City Clerk/City Attorney Department and Administrative Services Department will give their 2013-2014 department presentations. Then on Thursday, Oct. 18, at a specially scheduled City Council work/study session, the department presentations will include Recreation Services, Recreation and Park Fees for 2013-2017, Park Services and Property Management, Public Safety and Public Works.

The Engineering Services and Community and Economic Development Departments will deliver their budget presentations to the City Council at the Thursday, Oct. 25 work/study session. The Development Fee Schedule will also be reviewed.

The City Council is scheduled to review the proposed 2013-2014 biennial budget at its Nov. 1 work/study session, with a formal public hearing on the plan set at its Nov. 5 regular meeting. The City Council is then expected to consider adoption of the proposed budget on Nov. 19.

All council meetings and work/study sessions begin at 7 p.m. at the Interim City Council Chambers, 6100-219th St. S.W., Suite 220. The meetings are also available live online.
