Senior Syd Springberg and junior Sam Armentrout have been selected as the Mountlake Terrace High School student athletes recognized for the month of January by the school’s Sports Booster Club. Springberg and Armentrout will be featured on the club’s Athlete Highlights posters displayed at local businesses and on the Sports Booster Club website this month.
The two Hawks were selected for the honor by their respective coaches in Terrace winter team sports.
Springberg is a four-year member of the MTHS wrestling team and competed at Mat Classic XXV, the 2013 WIAA state wrestling championships last February. “I choose to recognize Syd Springberg for his strong work ethic, solid academic performance and outstanding leadership,” said MTHS wrestling coach Grant Thompson. “He routinely goes the extra mile to find success. He has the heart of a champion.”
Armentrout is a three-year member of the Hawk boys swim team. “Sam is a good leader for the guys, very hard working and determined during practice and at meets,” stated MTHS boys swim team coach Kate Trettevik.
