Mountlake Terrace is hosting a fundraising spaghetti dinner and auction on Saturday, Nov. 1, to benefit the FIRST robotics teams in the Edmonds School District. The event is scheduled for 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School, 21801 44th Avenue West.
The spaghetti dinner includes the main course, salad and beverages, and will be available for $10 per meal. Dessert, in addition to various items and services donated by local supporters, will be auctioned off to the high bidders.
FIRST robotic programs challenge middle and high school students to build and operate robots that compete against each other in live action games. The robotic teams from Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood and Edmonds-Woodway High Schools will be on-hand to demonstrate their robots in tournament pits set up at the event. There will also be a short informational presentation on FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) prior to the live auction.
Regional competition for the MTHS, Lynnwood and Edmonds-Woodway robotics teams begin in February, with events scheduled in Auburn, Mount Vernon and Snohomish. The FIRST Championship is set for April 22-25 in St. Louis, Missouri.
