The southbound freeway bus platform at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center will now remain open this weekend after Sound Transit cancelled construction work that had previously been scheduled there.
Sound Transit had hoped to dig a well at the site, first over the Jan. 26-27 weekend, then this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, but has had to postpone the work until all permits for the project have been obtained, according to a Community Transit spokesperson. The southbound bus platform was to be closed during the construction work to accommodate project equipment and personnel.
“They need to station the digging vehicles for 20 hours,” said CT Assistant Public Information Officer Bob Throckmorton.
The project may get rescheduled for later this month.
