Sound Transit offering discounts for low-income riders, raising Sounder fares

sound transitStarting March 1, 2016, Sound Transit is implementing a discounted fare for adult riders with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Riders will need an ORCA LIFT card to receive the discounted fare. Click here for information on how to get an ORCA LIFT card.

To offset revenue loss, Sounder train services distance-based fares are increasing by 50 cents for other riders. Adult fares will be $3.25-$5.75. Youth fares will be $2.50-$4.25 and Senior/disabled fares will be $1.50-$2.75. Click here for more information on the new fares.

If you currently use the Autoload feature on your ORCA card for your PugetPass, you may need to change the Autoload to the new pass value. If you need assistance, contact ORCA customer service at 888-988-6722 (8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday).
