The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a bicycle-truck accident in unincorporated Brier Saturday morning, Sept. 22, that took the life of a 24-year-old Lynnwood man.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton, deputies were dispatched at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Atlas and Barker roads in the Brier area of unincorporated Snohomish County. “When deputies arrived, they discovered an adult male bicyclist had collided with a pick-up truck. The bicyclist died at the scene.
“At this time, investigators believe that the bicyclist may have been traveling too fast to safely negotiate traffic and the curve in the road,” said Ireton, who added that alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the accident. No charges have been filed at this time against the truck driver, a 43-year-old male from Mountlake Terrace, she said.
