The Snohomish County Sheiff dive team practices an ice rescue at Fish Lake in Leavenworth.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s dive team took a road trip to Leavenworth Thursday to practice frozen lake rescues on Fish Lake.

The department shared these photos on its Facebook page.

“We are always telling people to stay off the ice because it’s really dangerous. But, for those that don’t heed the warnings, our Dive Team is prepared to help those in distress (with appropriate gear and a safety plan in place, of course),” the department wrote.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office serves more than 750,000 residents in incorporated and unincorporated Snohomish County.
